Did you know? | EcoTools is more eco-friendly than you knew

An EcoTools newsletter popped into my inbox today and I felt I had to share some wonderful tidbits from my holy grail make-up brish brand!

I knew they were 100 percent vegan and cruelty-free with bamboo handles, but did you know the bamboo is renewable and EcoTools uses recycled aluminium materials for the ferrules?

“We believe in giving a new purpose to old things. That’s why our products are made from recycled aluminum and plastic.

“Our packaging is made of 100 percent tree-free paper. How? With 20 percent cotton and 80 percent bamboo fibers!

“The handles on our products are made of renewable bamboo, one of the fastest growing plants on the planet!

“We love our furry friends! Our products are PETA certified, meaning we are 100 percent cruelty free and vegan.”

The brand has also created their own EcoFoam technology to create their sponge applicators. They’re the first such blenders to be made from 71 percent plant-based materials. I love these sponges because when you dampen them beneath the tap, they are actually damp as opposed to sopping wet, so you can squeeze them and get to blender straight away.

The collection of bath accessories include 100 percent organic cotton as well as sustainable bamboo and recycled aluminium. And the bamboo is a great wood source to use for these that won’t rot if you hang them up in your shower instead of having to leave them on the radiator!

Their line of hairbrushes are designed with an areodynamic EcoVent in each brush, which they say dries your hair 20 to 40 percent faster than other leading brush brands. You might ask how this makes them more eco-friendly but think about it. If it doesn’t take as long to dry you use less electricity in the end. And the increased circulation of hot air means your hair won’t fry; this is something I’ve noticed using the Smoothing Detangler Brush to dry my hair. My locks are in better condition and I save tonnes of time and money on hair treatments and expensive conditioners.

And now you know some of the reasons I’m so loyal to EcoTools. Oh, wait, it gets better!

“We’re also marking a decade of living beautifully by making a EUR 85709.82 donation to Glamour’s The Girl Project via our #MyTrueBeauty campaign that supports women’s empowerment and encourages women to become the best version of themselves.

“As women, sisters, and mothers, we have always believed that true beauty comes from within, and you have to do good to feel good,” say Jen and Stacey, founders of EcoTools.

EcoTools is available on their own website, at Boots and Superdrug and iherb.com.
